THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME TO SERVE!
Hello, I’m Ian Cotton.
Representing you on Lynnwood City Council this last term has been a tremendous honor.
I am humbled by the privilege of serving you.
Which is why I’m asking for your vote, and your support!
Lynnwood means a lot to me on a personal level.
Three generations of my family currently live in this city.
In fact, my 9-yo daughter attends the same elementary school as I did.
It's reasons like these that have me so invested in Lynnwood's future.
So it can be a better place to live for everybody.
Which is why I ask for your support and your vote this next election, November 7th!
Here are some ways I'd like to continue serving you in 2018.
Using YOUR MONEY Wisely:
Having served as Council Vice-President and on the Finance Committee.
I have an in depth understanding of how the City’s financial systems operate and what needs to be done to continuously improve them.
I also helped revised Lynnwood's financial policies ensuring economic emergency response policies are in place, to help protect us in the event of a future recession or economic down-turn. These changes have been identified by the MRSC as model policy for other medium size cities to duplicate.
Also, as the Council Liaison to the Convention Center PFD Board, I oversaw the refinancing of outstanding Debt at more favorable interest rates. Saving the City taxpayers $2.3M in bonding capacity.
I am always looking for responsible ways to spend effectively, and save wisely. So that you get the most out of your tax-dollars, and so that Lynnwood is better prepared for whatever the future brings.
YOUR VOICE:
When you came and asked that it be done, I wrote several pieces of Legislature that the City Council has passed on YOUR behalf. I have done this, in large part because YOU asked for the changes to be made!
When you came with concerns about Sound Transits OSMF that was slated to be sited in YOUR city, I used my technical expertise as a Professional Engineer to work with the City Department Directors to push back!
I will continue to listen to YOUR voice in local government and enact and champion Legislative changes to your City Government on YOUR behalf. YOUR City should exist to administer Government on YOUR behalf. I will be sure YOUR Voice is heard, considered, and acted upon.
YOUR SERVICES:
As part of the SNOCOM board that oversees 911 call center services and Emergency responder communications, we were able to bring you text-to-911 and www.smart911.com services that enhance your ability to call for help on your worst day, and be sure that you receive the best care and service.
With YOUR Support, we secured dedicated funding for our roads and secured over $20M dollars in outside grant funding for our infrastructure!
With YOUR continued support, I will continue to prioritize Emergency Responders and Infrastructure within YOUR City so that the core services are delivered at the level YOU ask for!
The Election is coming up, and I ask for your VOTE this NOVEMBER 7th so that I may continue to serve OUR great City!
Thank you,
-Ian Cotton
